Guide Review - Review of Old-School Board Game ‘Blokus’ for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad
Based on a board game, Blokus is a slow, but fun strategy game that becomes deceptively addictive. Like Tetris blended with Connect Four, Blokus requires placing as many block shapes on the board as possible. However, at least one other opponent is doing the same thing, trying to block your placements while taking up as much room as possible. It gets three times as complex when doing a four-player game. Sounds simple, but winning requires a level of strategy somewhere between checkers and chess: Place too many big pieces and you’ll run out of space quickly, yet focus too much on the small ones and you’ll keep your area open for opponents to take over. There are a ton of game types, including several multiplayer modes and a good tutorial, and it will only take a few games to get the hang of the game. Blockus is a simple, fun board game that will keep you and friends occupied on the road.
