The Ibanez Artcore ASF75T is a hollow-bodied electric guitar from Ibanez. Many famous guitarists such as legendary shredders Joe Satriani and Steve Vai play Ibanez guitars, and the ASF75T is part of the Artcore series, which is made up of solely hollow-bodied guitars. If you're considering getting one, checking out the specs can give you an idea of what you'd get for your money. - The main differences in choosing a hollow bodied guitar over a full bodied one is that hollow bodied guitars provide a warmer tone than solid body ones. The Ibanez Artcore ASF75T is a full-hollow bodied guitar, which are the lightest types in weight. It is well suited to electro-acoustic playing.
- The Artcore ASF75T features a mahogany neck and a maple body. Mahogany necks provide a warm tone, and maple bodies give good sustain and a bright edge to your sound.
- The Artcore ASF75T has 22 frets, and the body meets the neck at the 17th fret. This gives you some opportunities for soloing, but may mean that you have to stretch for really high notes. The neck is 24.75 inches long and around an inch thick at the largest end. The frets are marked by a block design on the inlay.
- The Artcore ASF75T features two Humbucker pickups, at the neck and bridge. These are changed between by a switch on the guitar's body. Humbucker pickups are dual-coiled, so they eliminate unwanted hum more efficiently than their single-coiled counterparts. They both have ceramic magnets and produce a good clean sound with a slight overdrive. The bridge and neck pickups are similar on the ASF75T, but the neck pickups produce a fatter tone.
Each pickup also has dedicated tone and volume knobs on the guitar's body. As a result, you can set each pickup to produce a completely different sound, and switch between the two at will. - Ibanez has included a VBF70 Vibrato bridge on the ASF75T. The bridge has roller saddles, which are what your strings rest on and are often the cause of tuning problems. Roller saddles have been developed with this in mind and help your axe stay in tune for longer.
The ASF75T also includes a Vibrato bar, which is mounted to the bridge and is used to add vibrato to notes using your picking hand. The bar is a flattened shape to make it more comfortable to operate than typical cylindrical models.
