How to Fix a Slow Internet Explorer
- 1). Stop any downloads or uploads taking place on the computer. If you are using a peer-to-peer program (such as LimeWire or FrostWire), your browser speed slows.
- 2). Click "Start" and "Control Panel," and double-click "Internet Options."
- 3). Select the "General" tab and choose "Clear History." When a prompt window appears, select "Yes." All of the cache files and Internet history are removed from Explorer.
- 4). Close the Control Panel and launch Internet Explorer. The browser now performs at its normal speed.
