How to Install a CB Beam
- 1). Connect the two detached boom sections by pressing the ends together.
- 2). Center the boom-to-mast plate across the boom's center connection joint. Attach two U-bolts across the boom and through the plate. Secure the U-bolts to the plate with four washers and four nuts, using a wrench.
- 3). Center the mast behind the boom-to-mast plate. Secure the mast to the plate with two U-bolts. Attach four washers and four nuts to the U-bolts. Tighten with a wrench.
- 4). Place one element tube perpendicularly on the boom's reflector end. Secure the element tube with a U-bolt. Attach two washers and two nuts to the U-bolt. Tighten with a wrench.
- 5). Attach two element tubes to the opposite side of the boom known as the "director." Space the element tubes evenly from each other.
- 6). Secure each element tube with one U-bolt, two washers and two nuts, using a wrench.
- 7). Attach the gamma match portion of the CB beam assembly to the middle element, using gamma straps. Tighten the straps with two washers and two nuts, using a wrench.
- 8). Connect a coaxial cable into the gamma matches' connection port. Snake the cable down to connect with the user's CB radio assembly.
- 9). Turn on the CB radio system. Adjust the gamma matches' physical location to receive the best radio signal.
