How to Make Early Credit Card Payments
- 1). Pay by mailing a check. Get your credit card statement and write down the payment address in a notebook. Now, when you get ready to pay early you will always have the address handy. Your account number will also be located on the statement or you can find it on your credit card. If you mail your check early without the statement, simply write the account number on the check and your payment will be processed.
- 2). Pay by check using the telephone. Call the toll-free number on the back of your credit card. When you call, a representative will be able to take your information and process the payment over the phone. You will need the routing number on one of your personal checks, which is the nine-digit number located on the bottom of the check on the left side. He will also need your checking account number, which is right after the routing number. Give the representative the check number located in the upper right-hand corner. You will need to void or destroy the check. The money will be taken from your account, in some cases instantly.
- 3). Pay online. Register for online banking with your credit card company. You will need to input all of your personal information, including checking account information, and you can make a payment online whenever you want. Some companies allow you to set a specific date when you want the payments to be deducted from your checking account.
- 4). Sign up for a bill pay service. This service allows you to pay your debts any time you want. With a bill pay service you register all of your personal information and you can have payments sent electronically or you can have a paper check sent to the creditor of your choice.
- 5). Pay by bank debit card. Call the customer service center of your credit card company and give them your debit card number. They will probably need the three-digit security code on the back of the card as well. They will take the money right out of your checking account and apply it to your credit card. They will also need your credit card account number.
- 6). Pay your credit card account early using a PayPal account. You need to sign up for the service. A user ID and password need to be established. Payments can be made through this service and will be applied to your credit card account in two or three days. The basic PayPal service is free.
