The higher the pixels the better quality of pictures you will get.
Digital cameras are more affordable but it still depends on how much you want to put into it.
When taking pictures at an event such as a family outing, group outing, or special event, have a theme in mind.
This will help you select the type of pictures you want to take and display.
Learning how to use and get comfortable with your zoom feature on your camera is also very important.
This will help you to take pictures without being intrusive to others or getting in the way of functions having to do with the event or getting objects or people whom you do not want in the exposure.
Use a camera that is light sensitive which does not require a lot of light.
There will be no flash and this will allow you to get good pictures of people and animals being their natural selves.
If you are taking pictures of an individual object or person learn how to use the alignment markings in your camera screen or site.
Some digital cameras have both.
Using a camera with an auto exposure will help you get the best picture but learning how to use some of the settings for camera speed can help you become more creative.
Take more than one exposure to be sure that you select the best picture for display.
You also may want to try more than one angle.
Using a tripod that is easy to set up when taking individual exposures will help you to get a good quality picture also.
Now that you have got your pictures, you may want to develop them yourself.
if so you need to be familiar with the hardware and software that you intend to use.
Otherwise get a professional to develop them for you.
Whether you intend to make your own scrapbook or buy a photo album, writing briefly about the event would help make your pictures come to life.
I found that when I went on vacation, made notes so that I could keep up with the different events helped me to organize my photos.
I found that when I added captions to my pictures that people were able to enjoy the pictures even more because this served as an enhancement.
Also take the time to read your camera manual and refer to it from time to time and practice, practice, practice! Then when the big event comes you will be ready.
Happy picture taking.
