Home Business - How the Gurus Did It
"Home Business for Newbies," my debut to article writing, touched on what is out there - which can smother a beginner with less than 101% focus and determination.
But what is "out" there is of less importance than what is "IN" here.
Joe Kumar, a famed online entrepreneur, gathered the thoughts of more than 20 gurus (experts) and compiled them in a book titled, "30 Days to Internet Success - vol 1.
" A MUST read for those starting out in home business, it shows what is IN the minds of these gurus, making them what they are.
Being of different backgrounds, expertise and experiences, they had different approaches at what they would do should they be financially ruined in 30 days - the hypothesis upon which the book was based on.
We may not lose our shirts in 30 days but this book can help us extremely well should that becomes an eventuality.
Differences aside, their similarities are worth emulating.
These are: * They would take a day off to relax, let go and take stock of their situation; * They would get in touch with those they have obligations with and strike up an IOU with them; * They would assess what went wrong, their mistakes; learn from them; * They would assess what is left, their strengths, skills and expertise and how to apply these to recover; * They would search what is available out there in their own niches; visit and participate in forums and get inputs from articles in e-zine sites; * Once a clear picture emerges, they start planning their work, and work their plan.
Grudgingly the last part is the graveyard of a huge percentage of those starting out in internet-based home business.
Wittingly or unwittingly they succumb to: * Procrastination; * Cluttering their daily activities with things irrelevant to the task at hand; * Indulging in activities affecting their physical and mental health; * Mortal self-pity.
It is often said the 97% of newbies and oldies, alike, will fail in this business.
And several reasons are put forth, depending on who one is communicating with.
I like the reasons put forward by a "guru" whose autoreponder has been working overtime to get me to his team.
For him I will fail because: 1.
I don't have a saleable product; 2.
Assuming I have a product, I am not promoting it effectively; 3.
I don't belong to a team to help me with Items 1 & 2.
I guess he is right until 2 weeks ago.
Now I have and am working full steam to go by what Anne Ahira said (one of the gurus in the book), "success is the only option.
"
