    • 1). Go to the "Picture Adjustment" menu using your TV remote. You will have three "Picture Preset" options to choose from. Choose "Dynamic/Vivid" if you wish to greatly increase contrast, brightness and sharpness of your picture. This setting provides good quality for video games and animations as well as a better picture for rooms with strong lighting. Select "Standard" if you want to slightly increase contrast, brightness and sharpness. This setting provides a great picture for standard broadcast, cable and satellite users. Choose "Movie/Pro" if you want the contrast and brightness to create a realistic effect. This setting will also reduce or extinguish the sharpness of your picture. You will want to choose this setting when viewing sessions of great quality, such as, DVD's and HDTV programs.

    • 2). Adjust "Level 2" settings once you've decided which "Picture Adjustment" (Level 1) setting you will use. Adjust the "Brightness" to change how dark or light the brightness of black is within the picture. Brightness settings are usually standardly set to high so you may wish to lower it.

    • 3). Adjust the "Contrast," sometimes labeled "Picture," to change the overall lighting of your picture. This default setting is also usually too high. Try lowering it to 50 percent of the maximum setting.

    • 4). Adjust the "Color" or "Saturation" to change the color levels of your TV. This setting should not be drastically changed. Drastically increasing this color will cause people to look sunburned or cartoonish.

    • 5). Change the "Sharpness" to improve any poor-quality signals. If you use a standard broadcast, cable or satellite program, you can adjust this setting to improve your overall picture. For DVDs, set the "Sharpness" to zero. For standard TV signals, increase the overall "Sharpness" to enhance picture edge quality.
