Dealing with Tonsilloliths can be difficult at times, especially if it is hard.
Some people can actually remove tonsil stones by just coughing.
However there are thousands of people who find it difficult to treat this problem.
The bad odor and the feeling of something sticking at the back of your throat can be really bad.
These stones are formed when food, mucus, dust particles and other substances get accumulated in the tonsil glands and get hardened over a period of time.
The good news is that you can take some simple steps to remove tonsil stones without great difficulty or pain: 1) Take a cotton swab and dip in water to make it wet.
Now take a mirror and a torchlight that can help you look at the back portion of your throat in the mirror.
Now use the wet cotton swab and push the tonsil stone slightly so that the accumulation comes out.
Make sure you don't push it further inside the gland.
If you have stones on both the sides, perform this activity for both sides.
After you remove tonsil stones gargle your mouth with a good mouthwash.
2) Another method to remove tonsil stones is using an oral irrigator.
This is a device that throws water out with some pressure.
Fill the irrigator tank with lukewarm water and set the speed to low to medium.
Now point the irrigator to produce the water jet against the stone.
With proper positioning you should be able to flush out the stone.
If you set the speed of the water jet high, you can damage your glands, so be careful.
