How to Connect RCAs to Speaker Wires
- 1). Pull apart the two separate leads (wires) that make up your speaker cable for a length of about 2 inches.
- 2). Remove 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of each speaker cable lead with a wire stripper.
- 3). Unscrew the jacket from the back portion of the RCA plug by twisting it to the left. Slide the jacket over the end of the speaker wire so that the threaded end of the jacket is closest to the end of the speaker cable.
- 4). Solder one of the leads of the speaker cable to the center post on the back edge of the RCA plug -- located on the portion of the plug that was covered by the jacket.
- 5). Solder the other lead of the speaker cable to the outer tab on the back edge of the RCA plug.
- 6). Slide the jacket over the soldered joints and screw it back onto the RCA plug.
