Dark Skies (2013)

Not to be confused with the mid-90s TV series, this Dark Skies is a thriller from the director of Priest and Legion.
The story: As the Barret family's peaceful suburban life is rocked by an escalating series of disturbing events, they come to learn that a terrifying and deadly force is after them.
Starring: Keri Russell (Lacy Barrett), Josh Hamilton (Daniel Barrett), Dakota Goyo (Jesse Barrett), Kadan Rockett (Sam Barrett), J.K. Simmons (Edwin Pollard), L.J. Benet (Kevin Ratner), Rich Hutchman (Mike Jessop), Myndy Crist (Karen Jessop), Annie Thurman (Shelly Jessop), Jake Washburn (Bobby Jessop), Ron Ostrow (Richard Klein), Tom Costello (Young Father), Marion Kerr (Young Mother), Alyvia Alyn Lind (Young Daughter), Josh Stamberg (Police Officer).
Directed by: Scott Charles Stewart.

Sucker (2013)

You'd think with a name like Crawley he'd end up as a Kafakesque cockroach, but the end result of this horrific transformation is more along the lines of a huge, ugly mosquito -- this the sucking suggested by the title; except that the sucker kind of looks like something else, adding an extra layer to the already racy slasher content.
The story: Down on his luck and unlikely hero, Jim Crawley is having the worst day of his miserable life. He decides to end it all and even fails at that. An improbable event changes everything and he becomes a half man/half creature.
Starring: Michael Manasseri (Jim Crawley), Monty Bane (Detective Shanahan), Ricky Wayne (Dr. David Myers), Kimberley Kates (Jackie Crawley), Jordan Trovillion (Evelyn), Danny Mooney (Detective Bowen), Dana Gamarra (Barry), Ted Myers (Simmons), Lloyd Kaufman (Mr. Koppleman).
Directed by: Michael Manasseri.
Written by: J.P. Epstein and Michael Manasseri.
