Pregnancy has a tendency to make the pounds add on much quicker and without much effort! This happens, not only because of over eating, but because the body goes into a storage mode.
During pregnancy, this additional weight gives a lovely rounded look to the mother, adding a glow as well.
But after giving birth, this weight doesn't look so good anymore.
Its time to shed it off and get back to your normal self.
This definitely isn't as difficult as you may imagine.
There are simple, yet effective workouts which can get you going on the road towards a slimmer you! One of the main causes for the extra weight gain is the tendency to eat for 'two'.
The usual mindset of an expecting woman is that now she needs to eat for herself as well as her baby.
In turn consuming double the calories than actually required! Your body does require an increased intake of calories, but definitely not double! A baby will always get its nutrition from the mother's body, irrespective of the food intake.
So all you expecting mothers - please do not double your food intake; just eat healthy food in good quantities.
But now that you have already added the additional pounds, how do you start knocking them off? Its simple, the foremost thing to do is to switch to a healthier lifestyle.
  • Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, avoiding calorie rich foods like carbohydrates, butter, chocolates.
  • If your breastfeeding, there is a tendency to have hunger pangs.
    Eat small quantities more often to avoid this.
    You can keep a handy stock of nuts to munch on each time you get hungry.
  • Begin taking your baby for morning and evening walks.
    There is nothing more enjoyable than exercising with your baby! Your baby will love it too!
  • Get an effective workout program in place which understands your body and is not very time consuming
