• The "Mortal Kombat" video game series has been a popular franchise since its initial release in 1992. From that time, it has continued to release titles known for their violence and over-the-top action. In the eighth game of the series, the MK characters take on famous faces from the DC Universe. Unlockable Secrets

• Twenty characters are available for use when you begin playing "Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe." Two additional characters are unlockable once you complete the corresponding story arc. To unlock the main villain from the "Mortal Kombat" universe, Shao Khan, you must finish the Mortal Kombat side of the story. Completing the DC comics story arc will unlock one of Superman's greatest enemies, Darkseid. Another secret within this game is how to use the random character select. Holding the up arrow on the direction pad and pressing the start button will cause the game to pick the character you will use during play.
  
  

Mortal Kombat Fatalities

• The "Mortal Kombat" series is well known for the violent special moves that can result in missing limbs and vital organs. While the overall gore has been toned down for "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe," the characters still have two fatalities each. These moves are not listed in the game manual and would normally take experimentation to uncover. Use these button combinations while playing the Xbox 360 version to use the special moves:
  
  Sub Zero's freeze slam is done by pressing back, forward, down, forward and Y.
  Sonya's kiss of death is used by pressing down, down, back, forward and X.
  Shang Tsung's backbreaker maneuver is completed by pressing back, down, forward and A.
  Scorpion's toasty fatality is done by pressing down, down, down and B.
  Raiden's shock fatality is used by pressing back, forward, forward, down and B.
  Liu Kang's head stomp is done by pressing down, down, forward, down and B.
  Kitana's fan throw is used by pressing back, back, forward and X.
  Kano's knife fatality is used by pressing back, down, back, forward and X.
  The Jax head smash is used by pressing back, forward, forward, back and X.
  Baraka's chest stab is used by pressing forward, forward, down, down and A.
  
  

DC Universe Brutalities

• The DC Universe characters were not given the same type of violent finishers as their MK counterparts. Instead they have brutal finishers, also known as brutalities. Here is how to use them while playing the Xbox 360 version:
  
  Batman's bat swarm move is used by pressing down, back, forward, forward and B.
  Captain Marvel's ground slam is used by pressing down, back, down, forward and Y.
  Superman's ground pound is used by pressing down, down, forward, forward and X.
  Wonder Woman's lasso spin is used by pressing forward, back, back, forward and B.
  The Joker's playing cards maneuver is used by pressing back, down, back, forward and Y.
