    • 1). Go to an area that you are sure has a wireless Internet signal. Turn your computer on, and click on the AirPort logo on the main toolbar. The logo looks like signal waves being sent upward from a single black dot.

    • 2). Click "Airport On."

    • 3). When your computer detects to the Wi-Fi source, the connection will appear on the menu. Click on the title of the network, and your computer will automatically connect. If the network is locked, a small padlock icon will appear next to the network's name; you will be asked to enter a password if you click on it.

    • 4). AirPort also lets you choose your favorite networks and automatically attempts to connect to those first. In the AirPort menu click "Open Airport Preferences." Click on "Advanced" in the prompt that opens. Organize the networks by dragging them into the order you prefer.
