It's a Boy

Jin continues to hand out the sea urchins he has caught. Most of the survivors say no thanks and don't take the urchins. Jin comes upon Claire on the beach and at first she refuses the food, but he insists through body language. Unable to speak English, he points to her pregnant belly, and she eats the seafood, for her unborn baby.

She feels the baby kick for the first time since the crash and, overjoyed, she grabs Jin's hand and places it on her stomach. Jin looks the other direction and tries to pull away. All of the sudden, she believes the baby is a boy.

Polar Bear on a Tropical Island

The transceiver group continues through the jungle. Sayid and the other guy continue to argue, but are cut off by sounds of a large animal coming towards them. The arguing guy is the only one that doesn't run and as a bear leaps toward him, he pulls out a gun and shoots it.
The group circles the bear. Kate says it's not just any bear, it's a polar bear. "Polar bears don't usually live in the jungle," Shannon says.
"Spot on," Charlie says.

Hurley Doesn't Like Blood

Jack asks Hurley to hold a guy down while he pulls shrapnel out of him. Hurley says he doesn't like the sight of blood. Jack tells him not to look and to just hold the guy down, because he'll struggle if he comes to.
Hurley looks at the guy and says, "Hey, guy, you awake? Look it's a rescue plane! We're saved! Yay." He looks at Jack, "Yeah, he's out."

Jack pulls the shrapnel out and Hurley faints, half on top of the guy. Jack continues to work on the man, but gets concerned when the man begins to come to. The man grabs Jack and says, "Where is she?"

The Gun

The man with the transceiver group who has the gun explains that he got the gun off a U.S. Marshal that was on the plane. He claims the man was transporting Sayid. Sayid accuses the man of being the prisoner, since he knew he was a Marshal. The man explains that he knows, because when he took the gun, he also took his badge.
Kate grabs the gun out of the man's hand. She says, "Anyone know how to use a gun?"
"You just pull the trigger," Charlie calmly says.
Kate explains that she wants to take it apart and Sayid walks her through it. She gives the bullets to Sayid and the gun back to the man that shot the bear.
Kate walks a bit away to think.

Kate's Plane Flashback

Kate is on the plane next to a man who asks her if she wants more juice. She pulls her hands from the under a jacket. She is wearing handcuffs and struggles to drink some juice. There is turbulence and the man laughs. He is struck in the head by luggage and is knocked out. As the plane goes down, Kate struggles to get the key off the man and unlocks one side of the handcuffs. As the oxygen masks come down, she puts one on herself and one on the man.

A Message in French

The transceiver group reaches high ground and Sayid tries to transmit, but the transmission is interrupted by another. Through the static, they hear what appears to be a French woman. Sayid believes it is a distress signal that continues to repeat itself on a loop. The group looks around at each other wondering what is being said. Boone says that Shannon knows French, but Shannon disagrees. He says that she spent a year studying in France. Shannon reluctantly tries to translate, but looks horrified at what she is hearing.
She says that the woman is asking for help and that everyone else is dead. Sayid figures out that the message has been repeating for sixteen years. Sayid doesn't believe the woman had been rescued, because they would have changed the signal.
Charlie says, "Guys, where are we?"
