Generally people consider credit score as the only thing that decides whether they are having a good credit or not, but it is not true. A good credit score without a subsequent amount of credit history is of no use when it comes to supporting loans of large amount or the qualifications required for some of the credit cards. So let us have a look at different aspects of a sample credit report and how to understand the different sections of it.
The first page of your sample credit report consists of the basic information like your name, present address, date of birth, and social security number etc. If you have ordered a joint report then it will have the same information about your spouse (or husband).
Summary of the sample credit report will represent a brief summary of the whole report including score from different credit bureaus, how many trade lines, record of all late payments, available credit, your credit line history, and percentage of credit available to you. You can have a quick idea of your overall credit standings and other parts of the report.
Mortgage section of your sample credit report provides the detail of your mortgage history, both of your accounts including those in good standings and derogatory account will be mentioned in this report. It shows any mortgage loan or amount in your name and the standings of the amount. Some important details of this portion includes type of account, your overall credit limit, balance as of the date when report was generated, date of opening of the account, and details of any previous installments etc. The sample credit report will be having proper information of all of these fields and you are required to read these details with proper attention.
This section of the sample credit report will explain the reasons because of which the score is at any particular level. There will be specific comments provided by the each of the credit monitoring agencies like Equifax, TransUnion or Experian and it will show how it is affecting your current credit score. It will also explain the reason behind the low credit score and any advice how to improve it from the bureaus.
Your credit inquiries will be listed in this section of your sample credit report and it include important details like loan type, name of creditor, date, and report of the bureau. These inquiries are further separated into two different section, "soft inquiries" and "hard inquiries". Hard inquiries are those which may count against you and soft inquiries are those for free credit reports. Large number of credit inquiries will be really harmful for your credit score.
Employment history is another important factor of your sample credit report. It will represent your recent and all the previous employment histories. It is an important part of your sample credit history report.
