These types of dentists are Dental Public Dentist, Endodontist, Prosthodontist, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologyist, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedist, Pediatric Dentist and Periodontist.

• Dental Public Dentist
They are the one involve in dental health assessment and improvement of populations rather than individual patient. They are responsible in assessing oral commercial products to know the good and bad effects of such products.
• Endodontist
They are professional dentists that deal with the surrounding tissues in the tooth root. They are also capable of assessing the tooth pulp to come up with the right dental restoration needed. The pulp is composed of arterioles, nerves, lymphatic and fibrous tissues and venules. When tooth decay progressed the dentist needed is an Endodontics.

Some Prosthodontists further their training in Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics (a study regarding missing facial structure replacement including eyes, ears, nose, etc.

They are capable of performing surgery to cure many diseases, defects and injuries in the head, face, jaw, neck and the soft and hard tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region. They are also professional in dental extraction and implantation method.
• Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedist
They studied treatment of improper bites or malocclusions that are possibly caused by tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw improved bite or occlusion. They are also responsible in modification of mandibular and midface growth and straightening of teeth.
• Pediatric Dentist
This type of dentist is formerly known as "pedodontics" that are capable of assessing and curing children's dental problems such as defects, diseases or injuries.
• Periodontist
Their specialized field is about studying and treating periodontium diseases. The treatment can be surgical or non-surgical depending on the dentist and on the actual condition of the disease. They can also perform dental implant placement and maintenance like what Prosthodontist also do.
