Generally, dentists are considered doctors that are capable of remedying oral problems. Dentists have also their own specialty, which means they also vary in the specialized field they studied. These types of dentists are Dental Public Dentist, Endodontist, Prosthodontist, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologyist, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedist, Pediatric Dentist and Periodontist.
• Dental Public Dentist
They are the one involve in dental health assessment and improvement of populations rather than individual patient. They are responsible in assessing oral commercial products to know the good and bad effects of such products.
• Endodontist
They are professional dentists that deal with the surrounding tissues in the tooth root. They are also capable of assessing the tooth pulp to come up with the right dental restoration needed. The pulp is composed of arterioles, nerves, lymphatic and fibrous tissues and venules. When tooth decay progressed the dentist needed is an Endodontics.
• Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologyist
The study, diagnosis, and treatment of oral and maxillofacial related problems and diseases are their main purpose as a dentist.
• Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist
They are capable of oral and maxillofacial diseases interpretation. They can also interpret diagnostic imaging that is used for assessing craniofacial, dental and adjacent structures.
• Prosthodontist
Prosthodontist is responsible in maintaining the prostheses including bridges, dentures, implants, crown etc. They are also professional in restoring such prostheses. Some Prosthodontists further their training in Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics (a study regarding missing facial structure replacement including eyes, ears, nose, etc.

They are capable of performing surgery to cure many diseases, defects and injuries in the head, face, jaw, neck and the soft and hard tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region. They are also professional in dental extraction and implantation method.
