Apple Confirms iPhone 4 Case Will Fix The Antenna Signal Issues On iPhone

After a gruelling 45 minute press meeting and presentation about the iPhone 4 antenna issues, Apple's Steve Jobs had to concede that "Smart Phones Aren't Perfect" And also, that Apple isn't perfect either. With the complaints of iPhone 4 antenna issues continuing to come through the news wires, it's no wonder Apple took the stage to give their version, and their impression of this problem.

I commend Apple for doing so, I applaud them for taking responsibility for the problem, and admire the way they went about
the press release. Truth be known, almost all smartphones suffer from this loss of signal issue. As a smartphone user for some 7 years now, I've tried all the major brands, and all of them have indeed dropped bars and often dropped calls when the phone was being held in what we would consider a natural way.

I think Apple did an excellent job of demonstrating this, without making it an opportunity for iPhone 4 competitor bashing. They showed video of 3 other major smartphone brands that all suffer from this problem just like the iPhone 4 does. And did so in an elegant and respectable way, making sure to let the press and audience know that all of these competing phones are fine phones, and that the industry as a whole is working to eliminate this problem. He didn't bash the competitors, he didn't say that their phones were inferior, he simply demonstrated very clearly that this antenna issue is not unique.

Each of the videos very clearly shows the 3 major smartphone brands being held or gripped in a certain way (which really is the most natural way to grip your mobile phone), and we watched as the signal bars dropped, sometimes right down to zero bars, which means an absolute loss of signal strength. However, Apple also gave out some hard and factual data, to really put some numbers on the table as to who is and isn't affected. It's clear that only 0.55% of all customers have this issue according to Apple care data. More telling is the fact that despite this issue, there have been alsmot no returns of this phone, or a very small percentage of returns for the iPhone 4.

Apple really stepped up to the plate when they said that they care about ALL of their customers, no matter what the percentage is of customers having this problem. The solution? It's a rather simple one. By putting your iPhone 4 in an iPhone 4 case the dropped signal bars and antenna issues completely disappear. It's an inexpensive and highly recommended solution. Even if your iPhone 4 doesn't have any antenna issues, getting a case for your iPhone 4 is something that all iPhone owners should do right away, to protect their expensive investment in what is quite possible the best little gadget
out there.
