    • 1). Open a Web browser and navigate to the download page for Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 SP1. Scroll to the "Files in this download" section and click the blue "Download" button for either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows XP. If you do not know which version of Windows XP you have installed, it is most likely 32-bit. Save the file setup.exe to the desktop.

    • 2). Double-click setup.exe on the desktop when the download is complete. After a moment a window titled Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 SP1 Wizard appears. Click "Next."

    • 3). Read Microsoft's license terms for Virtual PC 2007. To continue installation, click "I accept the terms in the license agreement" and then click "Next."

    • 4). Type your name, and if applicable the name of the business that owns the computer you are using.

    • 5). Click a radio button under "Install this application for" to indicate whether all computer users or only your user account should have access to Virtual PC 2007. Click "Next."

    • 6). Click the "Change" button to select a custom installation folder for Virtual PC 2007, or click "Install" to use the default folder of C:\Program Files\Microsoft Virtual PC. The utility copies Virtual PC 2007 from the setup archive to the installation folder. After finishing this process, the utility displays the message "Installation Completed."

    • 7). Click the "Finish" button. To launch Virtual PC 2007 click the "Start" button, select All Programs and then select Microsoft Virtual PC.
