How to Add Skins for Yahoo! Messenger
- 1). Locate a new Yahoo! Messenger skin online from a site such as Customize or Skinbase and download the .zip file.
- 2). Extract the .zip file on your computer by double-clicking the executable file. When the unzipping process is complete, the folder and its contents will be displayed on your computer. Be sure to leave the folder open on your desktop.
- 3). Click "Start" and then click "Computer."
- 4). Double-click on "Local Disk (C:)" and open the "Program Files" folder.
- 5). Scroll to the "Yahoo" folder and open it.
- 6). Double-click the "Messenger" folder, then open the "Skins" folder. You will notice a variety of Yahoo! skins folders.
- 7). Create a new folder in your "Skins" folder, and rename the folder to a title that is similar to your skin. For example, if you are installing a Final Fantasy skin, you can name the folder "Final Fantasy."
- 8). Copy the contents from the original .zip folder you downloaded and paste them in your new skins folder.
- 9). Open Yahoo! Messenger and log in to your account.

Click the small, round "Personalize" button at the top your Yahoo! Messenger application window. Your new skin will be listed in the skins drop-down menu.
