What to Take Away from the Show:
A training ground for star comics in Hollywood, SNL is truly an American pastime. With 36 years on air and only 128 cast members who can say that they have been a part of the genius work of Lorne Michaels, Saturday nights without SNL would become what daytime may be when The Oprah Winfrey Show leaves the air.
Having member of the casts from the original 1975 season as well as through the 80s, 90s, and 00s, the history of SNL is broad and many moments from the show have made it into pop culture and provided comic relief for so many people.
