How to Make a Flier for Lawn Services

    • 1). Brainstorm a list of things you would like to have on your flier. Common things include: contact information, company name, services offered, company motto, experience, specials offered, etc.

    • 2). Place your company's name and logo at the top of your flier so people can identify with your company right away.

    • 3). Use earthy colors such as different shades of green, brown, yellow and blue. Green is the most obvious choice for lawn-care services, but you can use different earthy tones as accents.

    • 4). Make a good first impression. You only have a few seconds to capture your potential customer's interest. Keep it short and to the point. Don't overwhelm your audience with too much information because they probably won't read it. Remember that less is more.

    • 5). Have your flier printed in color so it will distinguish you from the rest. Fliers printed in color give a more professional look and show that you took the extra time and care to give your company a professional image. Potential clients will associate the quality of your flier with the quality of your work.

    • 6). List your services in several bullet-point columns. Explain to potential customers which services you offer and the prices for each. Keep the entries short, but give the reader sufficient information.

    • 7). Use appropriate clip art. Clip art should enhance the flier, not distract from it. A small picture of a lawnmower or grass clippings in the corner of the page can help your audience quickly identify what your flier is about. Be cautious not to choose an image that is too big or contains too many colors. The clip art should be used as an accent, not as the focal point of your flier.

    • 8). Establish a call to action. Ideally, you'll want your potential customers to contact you via phone or through your website. Don't just put your phone number, email and website address on your flier and expect them to figure it out. Indicate which course of action you want them to take. Tell them to call you in big bold letters, and have your secondary contact information in smaller print at the bottom of your flier.
