How do I Mount a Small External Antenna?
- 1). Place the stud finder on the wall slightly above and to the side or behind the TV, depending upon your preference. Move the stud finder slowly back and forth horizontally until the needle on it indicates that a stud has been found. Mark the stud's position with a pencil dot on the wall.
- 2). Place the TV bracket against the wall, with the holes in the bracket's side lined up against the dot. Screw three screws through the bracket and into the wall so that the bracket adheres to the stud. Use a Phillips screwdriver to drive in the screws.
- 3). Loosen the set screws on the collar at the top of the bracket with the Phillips screwdriver. Insert the pole at the bottom of the external antenna through the collar and into the TV bracket. Rotate the TV antenna's flat-panel or wire elements so that they are facing in the general direction of outside. Tighten the screws.
- 4). Connect one end of the coaxial cable into the coax connection at the bottom of the small external TV antenna.
- 5). Connect the other end of the coaxial cable into the coax input (sometimes labeled "Ant") on the back of the TV.
