    • 1). Call Verizon Mobile. According to verizonwireless.com, customer service is available every day of the week. Dial (800) 922-0204 or *611 from your cell phone. Press "option 4." The automated representative will ask what you would like to do. Speak clearly into the receiver and say, "Change plan."

    • 2). Enter your account password. Hold until a Verizon customer service representative answers the call. Verify your account information with your name and billing address. Tell the representative that you would like to switch plans and the reason why.

    • 3). Discuss available plans. Verizon Mobile offers individual and family plans for accounts that have more than one line. If you are unable to decide on a specific package, ask the representative what she suggests based on your current usage. Additionally, question the representative about how the changes will affect your bill. When you decide on a plan that suits your needs, give the customer service associate permission to make the changes to your account.

    • 4). Verify the new plan. 24 hours after you request the change for your Verizon mobile plan, call the toll free number. Press "option 1" to check your current plan and usage. If your plan hasn't been updated within 48 business hours, call customer service and ask about the change.
