The beauty industry has loads of beauty secrets and visiting a makeup artist for a makeover can be a great way to learn some of their tricks. But, if you can't afford a makeup artist, here are some quick tips you can start using today for flawless makeup application.

Applying Makeup Tips

Do not use foundation profusely. Wash off your make-up before retiring to bed. The particles clog the skin-pores, and prevent the skin from inhaling fresh air.

For oily skin, a cake foundation is good. Avoid use of foundation with lanolin base. However, you can use a vanishing cream as foundation.

Take into account the color of the hair when applying lipstick. Orange shade lipstick will match black hair. For grey hair use pink color lipstick and for golden brown hair use scarlet shade.

Moisturizer

Apply your daily moisturizer and let your skin soak it up. Go for one with SPF15 to give you the protection you need from the aging UV rays of the sun. Spread a tissue paper over your face to blot off the excess.

Concealer.

Do you really need a concealer? If your dark rings are really bad, a yellow toned concealer several shades lighter than your skin tone can lighten it a little. Just apply a little, blend it very well into your skin.

Begin your application with foundation, applying it with a clean foundation brush. This will allow you to apply foundation more easily and without wasting any. Never use your hands as they can contribute to oil and the spread of bacteria. Foundation sponges are also a good option.

Layer to Achieve Perfect Coverage - Remember, you have more control over your results if you begin with a very small amount of product. Start with a thin layer of well-blended mineral foundation, and then add additional layers, using the same technique. You may need to pour more mineral foundation into the lid and reload your brush in order to achieve the coverage that you desire. Regardless of the level of coverage you need, be sure to continue buffing as you apply your minerals.

Check Your Application to Make Sure It Looks Natural - Regardless of the level of coverage that you require, your skin should look completely natural. If it doesn't, that means that you have applied too much product or that the application is uneven. Don't be discouraged, it takes a little practice to expertly apply a new type of makeup that you are unfamiliar with. If you have over-applied the product, take a clean powder puff or tissue and blot your face to remove any excess. Then resume blending with your brush until you have the look that you desire.

Note that makeup can have the problematic effect of clogging your pores. Be sure to use a brand of makeup that will not clog pores. These types of makeup have been designed and marketed to teenagers with acne problems. Many times this type of makeup will come with complete instructions. Often these makeup products contain ingredients that kill bacteria and help clean out pores.

Many women choose not to wear makeup when acne is acting up, but the anxiety of teenage years can be lessened when one can wear makeup. Covering up the unsightly blemishes can raise their self-esteem. Every young woman with an acne problem must decide for herself as to what is best for her in this instance.
