With so many blogs on the Internet today trying to make money I think it's a realistic question to wonder how many of them really are? When you consider blogging as a home based business you really need to keep a couple of things in mind.

What blogging format are you going to use? You are best off to host your own blog and use the WordPress format.
Most hosting companies make it extremely easy to set up a blog by just clicking a couple of buttons.

What is the theme of your blog? Initially you may want to look at starting a blog on something you have an interest in.
This does make it easier to get started.

How are you going to make money? The fastest way to monetize your blog is by adding affiliate products to it.
Take a look at Google Adsense, ClickBank and Amazon to give yourself a well rounded product line.

Are you willing to keep up posting content? It's a good idea to add fresh content on a regular basis.
You can also use auto blogging software to get content from article directories and other blog feeds.

Consider using your blog strictly as a website.
If blogging doesn't necessarily appeal to you then you can use the blogging platform as a website to sell products.
With this in mind you are not going to worry about fresh content as much as getting your website set up with product review pages, and pre-sell pages.
You then link to your affiliate products from these pages.
However you choose to do it you can make money blogging as a home based business.
