All About Buzz Lightyear
Who doesn't know what comes after "To infinity…."? Yep, that's right! Nobody! Everybody knows its "…..and beyond!" That, by the way, is the famous catchphrase of the equally famous cartoon character - Buzz Lightyear. He is the well-beloved space ranger from Disney/Pixar's movie series, Toy Story. With his best pal, Woody, and all his friends from Andy's room go through different sorts of thrilling escapades in the 3 parts of the movie series.
To begin with, in 1995, Disney Pixar brought Buzz Lightyear into "life" with a starring role in the movie Toy Story. Being a present for the birthday boy named Andy, Buzz begins his series of adventures along with his other comrades.
In Toy Story 1, Buzz first comes into the scene believing that he is a "space ranger" instead of just a toy. He thinks his spacecraft has crashed on a hostile ground. He also refuses to interact with the other toys and just keeps on repeating phrases like (guess what) "To infinity…and beyond!" He deems it that his sole mission is to return to space armed with his "fully functioning gadgets" which includes his pop-out wings, utility belt, and his space suit. However, he comes into terms with reality that he is just a toy, an action figure, when he sees an advertisement in television about the new ultimate Buzz Lightyear toy. With this realization of his own limitations, he embraces the team as a part of himself and becomes an awesome friend with the other toys.
In the second part, Buzz leads a rescue team, OPLAN Rescue Woody, when the latter is stolen by a classic toy collector. Buzz is doing good in managing to track down where Woody is, however he is overthrown by another Buzz action figure who is also trapped with the mindset of being a space ranger. In the middle of the fight, the evil Emperor Zurg is let loose. The latter also believes that he is the real deal and gives even more impediments for Buzz and his team. In the end, however, Buzz defeats Zurg, and Woody successfully returns home with his friends.
The team faces another dilemma in Toy Story 3, that dilemma being Andy going to college. They are all donated to Sunnyside Daycare, with Lots'O'-Huggin' Bear as the chief. Buzz is brainwashed and becomes Lotso's accomplice in keeping the "newcomers" from enjoying at the daycare. However, with the great planning and bravery, Buzz's team manages to outwit Lotso and finds their way back to Andy's house. In the end, as Andy leaves for college, the toys are passed to a little girl named Bonnie, who, like Andy, takes care of her toys well.
