FRED AND THE BLACK HATS - Dive Into Their New Multifaceted Universe!
The reggae in the background, taking its roots in black music, Fred's songs summon the popes of soul music and travel between jazz and rhythm'n blues. A plural universe where his warm voice wanders from french to english and where aesthetics conveyed tends to become intimate... To share without moderation!
With maturity, Fred has definitely found his voice. Rocked very young to the rhythms of rumba heard by a Gabonese mother- synthesizers and electronic (music paternal) he plays it to the rhythm of everything it finds. The kid who was beating like a deaf on cans, matured. He was freed codes reggae appropriate via a long journey started in the armed forces... Meanwhile, seizing the guitar from his roommate, the young man from Marseilles dressed in khaki humming songs bob Marley fervor and understands that music is more than a hobby.
The passage as a percussionist in the group Daipivo sealed the deal: with them he learned the basics of the music born in Jamaica and discovers the universe of the touring. While the bus rolls kilometers of asphalt, Fred heats up fingers on his djembe before going on stage to make dance the France of the 90s. Famous for their energetic live performances, the group bring him the experience of life in a musical collective. Continuing on this path, it invests the cultural project Kabba roots and participates in the creation of strong links between Kingston and Aubagne.
Attracted by all black music, it is with training gospel Paris that his discipline vocal organ. walking the pavement of Paris, exercising vocals, Fred takes the time to polish his musical creation: the result takes the form of a first album released in 2010, "cool and calm" in collaboration with musician and composer Stephane Cavin. Other meetings succeed, encouraging him to focus on his voice work better for his musical personality. A key meeting was with the singer Kemar "no one is innocent."
Invited to spend the first fruits to the outcome, Fred blows cool air bases, drawing with delight in all the directories of black music, soul to reggae or jazz to Afrobeat. This is how he gives us a second opus intimate and eclectic, dealing with both fights daily against loneliness or themes reflecting his desire to be engaged with the world....
