Belly fat is condition sometimes referred to in jest as "spare tires".
It refers to the unsightly collection of fat around the abdomen or belly.
In addition to being unsightly, an increase in belly fat has been shown to predispose one to metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and diabetes mellitus.
Workload on the heart is increased with the presence of increased body fat.
Unfortunately, getting rid of fat in this section can be difficult.
Nevertheless, worry not as while it may be difficult, it is certainly is possible.
Simple exercises can be carried out even while you're sitting at your cubicle at work.
What is best is that no one even has to know about it.
The first exercise you can carry out are sit ups.
Contrary to popular belief, sit ups can be carried out even while you're sitting up.
Simply sit upright on you chair and pull you belly inwards using your muscles.
Hold this position for 10 seconds before letting go slowly.
Remember not to simply suck in.
To make things easier, imagine that you are trying to touch your backbone with your umbilicus or belly button.
Repeat this as many times as possible.
Belly rolls are the next type of exercise that you can do while pouring over work at your desk.
Once again, sit up straight in your chair.
First pull your lower abdominal muscles in towards your backbone.
Slowly release these muscles and do the same with the muscle in the midsection of your abdomen.
Slowly release these muscles and repeat the process with muscles in your upper abdominal region.
Repeat this a few times, trying to go faster each time.
To help you, you may want to think of yourself as a belly dancer trying to roll your belly while doing a seductive belly dance.
Lastly, you can try to twist in the wind.
Simply sit up straight in your chair and twist your upper body from right to left repeatedly.
This exercise is particularly useful for burning fat at the love handles.

You don't need to devote any extra time, buy expensive equipment or be all dressed up in exercise gear in order to practice them.
Remember, the more you carry out these exercises, the more belly fat you'll burn.
