How to Play Different Video Formats on a PSP
- 1). Download any video file you wish to play through the PSP, regardless of the file format. The PSP's video format has a .mp4 file extension. You can either download a video that already has that file extension or you download a video with any type of file extension and then convert it into the proper format.
- 2). Download or purchase a video converter program. A free converter program can be downloaded from either the "DVD Video Soft" or the "PSP Video 9" website.
- 3). Open the video converter program after it has been installed on your computer. Locate the "Input" window at the top of the program. Click the button directly next to the window that says "Browse." A window will then open that will allow you to search your hard drive for the video file you wish to convert. Double-click the file so that it appear in the "Input" window.
- 4). Locate the "Output" window. The location that is shown in this window will be the default setting for where the newly converted file will be saved on your computer. To change where the file gets saved, click the "Browse" button directly next to the "Output" window and manually select the location that you would like the converter video file to be saved.
- 5). Click on the "Format" window at the bottom of the program. Scroll through the options and select "PSP." Click the "Convert" button at the bottom right corner of the program and wait for the file to be converted. After the process in complete, you can now add the newly converted file to your PSP.
