The Push Pack Review

The Push Pack is a pre-packaged bag that comes with the basics you may need when it is your time to go to the hospital or birth center to give birth. The idea behind it is to relieve you from having to worry about some of the small, every day items that you might normally bring to give birth. There are two options a basic pack and a princess pack. If you think of these as starter packs or basics - they are perfect!
The Details
The Push Pack is a great concept. One of the things that I find moms have a problem with when packing for labor is their toiletries. Do you pack the tooth brush last minute - what happens if you forget it. (Never mind, I think we all know.) This can really take the stress off of mom for remembering some of the little things that have a huge impact on her stay at the hospital or birth center.
While these might not be exactly a product that you've used before, it doesn't matter. You're either going to try something new and you're going to love it, or you make due for a few days.
That said, there are some neat products in here that you may not have thought about, and obviously it goes beyond tooth paste. I love the disposable underwear! Seriously, this is better than my previous favorite - mesh panties. It allows you to be covered, hold the bulky pad up to your private parts and not worry about everything falling out, nor do you worry about bleeding all over everything. These were really cool.
There are also a few things for moms. I'm a big fan of Bamboobies and there is a set included. There is also some nipple cream, and a few things to cover baby's bum. (If you're thinking, it's awfully early for a diaper rash, you're right, but coating baby's butt will help the meconium slide off!) The sticker for baby's first photos is also a very sweet touch.
There are a few things that are included that are not to my taste, nor can I really imagine someone using. The Thank You notes are the biggest one. I suppose that's because I can't imagine having time to write thank you notes. That said, you might believe that about the playing cards, but I think those are much more likely to be used in labor.
There are certainly other things to pack, but this is a great emergency pack. Think of this as a great starter set for yourself or a great baby shower gift for a friend or colleague. I also love that the packaging is reusable. The little kits come in travel bags that can be used for a very long time.
If you order directly from the company and have it shipped to the recipient, say as a baby shower gift, it comes wrapped in attractive tissue paper, making it a fun gift to open.
There are two types of kits: The Push Pack and the Princess Push Pack. The latter being slightly more packed and a bit more posh.
