    • 1). In the lower right corner of the task bar, click the yellow shield-shaped icon to open the Automatic Updates window.

    • 2). Choose "Custom Install (Advanced)" and click "Next."

    • 3). Uncheck any update that you would prefer not to install. If you chose to keep some updates, click "Install"; otherwise click "Close."

    • 4). On the next window, check the box marked "Don't notify me about these updates again," and click "OK."

    • 5). To remove the update installer completely, click on the Start Menu, then go to "My Computer."

    • 6). Right click on the "C" drive, click "Properties," then click "Disk Cleanup." Allow the Disk Cleanup program a few minutes to take inventory of your drive.

    • 7). Make sure that the "Temporary Files" option is checked, then click "OK." Click "Yes" when asked if you are sure. When the program is done, restart your computer.
