Installation Tools for Vinyl Fences

104 2
    • Vinyl fences are a good alternative to classic wooden fences, because they are more resistant and flexible than wooden fences, therefore they will hold better in time. A vinyl fence usually comes with a simple installation kit, so getting it set up is an easy task that can be carried out by just about anybody, with a minimum of tools available in any house.

    Measuring and Marking Tools

    • Before installing the fence, you need to measure the area and mark the line where the fence will be. Measurements can be done with a measuring tape and you need a rope or band and some posts to set up a sketch of the fence to get an idea how it will look.

    Digging Tools

    • Once the position of the fence and posts is set, you need to make the holes for the posts. You can either choose a manual post hole digger or a powered one. If you are using a manual post hole digger, grab the handles together and jam the digger in the ground. Spread the handles and lift the digger out of the ground to remove the soil and repeat the operation until your hole is big enough. If opting for an automated digger, you just need to put it in place, turn it on, wait until it reaches the desired depth and then pull it out.

    Concrete Preparation Tools

    • You will need concrete to fill in the holes of the posts once these are set in place. For concrete preparation, you will need a wheelbarrow or a container to prepare the concrete, the ingredients for concrete and a concrete mixer or a shovel if you choose to mix it manually.

    Fence Installation Tools

    • Vinyl fences are usually installed and connected using screws, so once your posts are in place, a power drill with a screwdriver bit will help you do all the work. You will also need a level to make sure all your posts and panels are in the right position.

    Finishing Touches

    • After your fence is up, you will probably need to cut up the posts if they are too high, so you will need a circular saw or a handsaw. After you make the cuts, you will need some PVC adhesive to glue the decorative post tops.
