How to Insert a Link in a Message in Mozilla Thunderbird
If you compose your email messages using HTML in Mozilla Thunderbird, Netscape or Mozilla (and I think you should), there's a comfortable way to insert a link ? an underlined link like those you're using on the Web every three seconds (approximately).

Alternatively, you can also highlight existing text in your message and only then use the Ctrl-L shortcut key. Then you merely have to enter the URL under Link Location.

To insert a link in an email in Mozilla Thunderbird or Netscape:
- Hit Ctrl-L (Windows, Linux) or Command-L (Mac).
- Enter the text you want to be linked (like "Kantian ethics" if you're linking to a paper on Kantian ethics) under Link Text.
- Press Tab.
- Enter the URL under Link Location.
- It's easiest to open the page in a browser window or tab, copy the URL from the address bar and paste it here.
- Click OK.
