Hubby"s Doppleganger
This past Friday evening, December 3, 2010, my husband and I decided to meet a friend at a local pub for a drink. It was early, so it was very quiet there -- only a handful of customers -- as the band wasn't supposed to start for another couple of hours yet.
After we'd had one drink and just ordered our second, our friend got a phone call and had to leave, so it was just me and my husband along with a handful of other patrons left -- all together probably no more than ten people.
At that point, my husband excused himself to the men's room. A couple of minutes later, I saw him exit the men's room and start to walk toward me. I glanced away for a moment to take a sip of my drink, and when I looked up again -- no hubby.
I looked all around the room and didn't see him anywhere. I even looked outside to see if he was out there with the smokers... of course not, as he doesn't smoke. Confused, I sat back down and looked up again, and there was my husband, coming out of the men's room and rejoining me. When I told him what happened he looked at me like I was crazy.
Keep in mind, I had only had one drink at this point... I was certainly not under the influence and seeing things. There was no one else in the pub dressed like my husband or even resembling him. There's no way I mistook someone else for him.
Also, the men's room was a single room; only one patron at at time can go in, so I didn't see someone else exiting the men's room and mistake him for hubby. I've had odd things happen throughout my life, and this seems to be yet another one.
I'll submit more stories later, but since this was the most recent it is very much on my mind.
