How to Use the Cruzer Micro
- 1). Visit your computer manufacturer's website. Type in the model number of your computer and download and install any updated drivers, especially motherboard drivers. Windows may not recognize the Cruzer Micro USB if you have outdated drivers.
- 2). Insert the Cruzer Micro into an available USB slot on your computer. Most USB slots are either on the front or back of the computer. The Cruzer Micro will only connect in one orientation. Do not force it into the USB slot; turn it the other way if it does not go in the first time. A dialog box will appear after you connect the Cruzer Micro and notify you that Windows is installing the hardware.
- 3). Click the Windows "Start" menu and select "Devices and Printers." Right-click the Cruzer Micro device and click "Browse Files." The Cruzer Micro folder will appear. Drag any file on your computer into the folder, making sure the file size is less than the amount of space you have left on the Cruzer Micro. You can check the available space on the Cruzer Micro in the "Devices and Printers" window. The available space will appear under the Cruzer Micro device. You can also drag any file from the USB device to an area on your computer.
- 4). Close the opened Cruzer Micro folder to prepare to remove the device. Click the notification arrow on the Windows taskbar and click the "Safely Remove Hardware Icon." The icon is a USB cord with a green checkmark next to it. Click the Cruzer Micro USB device under "Eject USB Flash Disk." Disconnect the Cruzer Micro device from the computer when the "It's safe to remove your hardware" message pops up on your desktop.
