Posting updates to blogs are simple.
The post reveals a text on the accessed page.
But what if you want more than just text? What if you want your post to be interesting and eye-catching? Then you might decide to express yourself with more dramatic flair by uploading an image or a video clip.
Images can add extra emphasis to the subject of your posts.
They can show the reader in more vivid color what your words lack in text.
Images enhance the mood of your post, also.
A funny image will let the reader know the mood of the post is lighthearted, whereas an eerie image alerts the reader to dark post.
Step One For most blogs you can use a photo stored on your computer.
Some blogs require the image to be stored online.
There are numerous, free online storage sites.
Many of them will allow you to transfer your stored picture to your blog with one click of a button.
If you want to add a video clip, make sure it is stored the same way on your computer or on an online storage area.
Step Two Inside the blogging service's editor, you should find an icon of picture.
By clicking this icon, a new window will pop up.
If you want to add a video clip, look for the icon of a photo negative.
Step Three In the new window, click the browse button to find your picture on your computer.
Locate the picture or path of the picture you want to insert.
(Note: Pictures must have an extension of jpg, gif, bmp, or png and can only be 8 MB or less in size.
) Step Four Once your picture has loaded, you will then choose the size of the picture.
Most blogging services will allow you to choose small, medium, or large.
Some blogs at this point will allow you to type the title of the image, a caption to display underneath the image, and the alignment option of where you want the image in the post left, right, or center.
Step Five Click the upload button.
Once you can see the image in your blog's editor window, click on the preview button to make sure it is the right size you want.
Check to make certain it is in the proper placement.
(Note: If you use someone else's image, then you need to make sure you have permission to use it.
If you do have permission, always give the photographer credit and maybe add a link to his/her site.
You can also find free copyright images online.
All you have to do is type in "free images" in your search engine.
) Conclusion One way to make a blog's appearance more appealing is by adding images to your blog's content.
Images can set the mood of your blog's post.
