How to Aim the Dish Pro Plus 500
- 1). Download the Zip500 directional program to your computer's desktop (see Resources). Once downloaded, double-click the file to decompress it to a program on the desktop. Double-click the program to launch it. Deselect the "Dish 500" button on the screen that appears. Select both the "119" and "110" buttons on the main screen.
- 2). Enter your zip code in the text field on the main screen, then click the "Convert" button. Write down the elevation angle on the main screen. This is the angle in which the Dish Pro Plus 500 must be aimed. Quit the program
- 3). Draw the elevation angle on a piece of paper with a plastic protractor. Fold the paper in the manner of creating a tent to form the elevation angle. Tape the folded paper to the bottom, back end of the level with a strip of cellophane tape.
- 4). Place a compass on top of the level. Tape the compass to the level with strips of cellophane tape. Stand next to the Dish Pro Plus 500. Hold the level like a rifle, with the compass on the top. Place the angle drawn on the paper against the side of the dish.
- 5). Loosen the knobs on the side of the dish. Raise the dish so it matches the elevation drawn on the paper. Tighten the knob to keep the setting just made. Move the dish left and right until the bubble on the level is steady between the two drawn lines. Tighten the other knob.
