Originality and Progress Made by Scandinavian Airlines During the Twentieth Century

105 3
From it's birth, or so some say, Scandinavian Airlines was born to succeed in a very real sense. The reason we say this is simply because of the fact that, while their beginnings were humble, they weren't as humble as some others have been over the years. The airlines took shape when small, local airlines with Scandinavia put their forces together along with a Swedish investment partner. The net result from that brought existing assets to the company which meant they had certain advantages. Unlike others, they were able to take off fairly quickly in part as a result of these pooled resources, assets and preexisting airline infrastructures. The airline has been largely successful in it's endeavors making it easy to see that it's beginnings were not of a fluke nature.rnrnIn the middle of the 1950s, Scandinavian Airline Systems (SAS) took off. SAS is the world's original airline that took a trans-polar flight.rnrnThis signifies that their flight took place on the top part of our world - the North Pole. The true flight take-off point was Copenhagen, Denmark and the targeted destination was Los Angeles, California. In fact, for their role, this was a brainy move for SAS. The logic is that because of the movie industry in Hollywood, they gained a magnificent amount of business and a good reputation. As a result, the route between Europe and the US west coast became more expedient. In the mid 2000's, SAS redesigned itself into four different but related companies. The four divisions include Norway, SAS international, Sweden, and ownership by Denmark. SAS Global is the other name for SES international which handles the transcontinental services of the company. Back to being a single company once again, SAS Scandinavian System AB is its new name. The separate and distinct aspects are only on paper.rnrnDenmark is one of three countries which have fractional ownership to Scandinavian Airlines. The primary area of flight operational responsibility is from Copenhagen to points around Europe.rnrnFurther air paths involve flights to Oslo, Norway as well as travel around Denmark. Despite the fact that the whole business has over 15,000 people employed with them, SAS DK doesn't even have 3,000 employees. Because Sweden also has a portion of possession, the story is analogous to SAS Sweden. Flights coming out of Stockholm, Sweden to places around Europe and routes throughout the country of Sweden are the realm of operations. It is hard to imagine the logistics involved in three separate countries actually in control of one company as Scandinavian Airlines is. Despite the obvious complications that could arise, this company continues to do what it has from the start. But this approach has given SAS a great deal of diversity which is part of their strength. They also have ongoing business contracts that allow them to persevere.
