Grown men have been known to shake at the mention of wisdom teeth pain. It is not a rational fear but is a fear built on rumor and hearsay. Adults will grow four back molars or as they are commonly known, wisdom teeth. The teeth erupt between 17 and 21 years of age, when it is believed that wisdom is acquired. Unfortunately like everything else in nature, it does not always go according to plan. Sometimes the teeth do not erupt completely, due to other teeth preventing this. There can also be a problem with the wisdom teeth when they fail to break through the gums. Another reason for wisdom teeth pain is when the teeth grow next to adjacent teeth, a problem known as crowding.
