    • 1). First, write down what it is that you wish to change in your life. If you wish to stop cheating on your spouse, quit smoking cigarettes, or stop being abusive to your children, then write it down.

    • 2). Now make a vow to cut out all the negativity in your life. You must be patient as it takes time to bring about change. Keep your list of things you wrote down with you as a reminder to yourself of what you are trying to change in your life.

    • 3). If you have not done so, join a local church. Make God a part of your life as you attempt to cut negativity out of your life. Get baptised and ask the preacher and members of the church to pray for you.

    • 4). Ask your family to help you in your quest to bring about change. You need your loved ones for support both mentally and physically.

    • 5). Try doing the hobbies you love and enjoy the most to stay away from the negative things in your life. Or try something new like keeping a journal or volunteering at a Boy's and Girl's Club.

    • 6). Seek counseling and professional help if you absolutely need to. Some people need the support of a certified professionals to cope with changes in their life. Change is hard for many people because of the fear of the unknown.

    • 7). Lastly, make it a point to develop a closer relationship with your loved ones in your time of need. You need them to get through this process of eliminating the negative things out of your life.
