'The Book of Eli' DVD
Denzel Washington stars in this post-apocalyptic action film directed by the Hughes brothers. Thirty years ago some catastrophe befell Earth that destroyed civilization's infrastructure and left few survivors. Now Eli (Washington), carrying what may be the world's only remaining copy of the Bible, travels on foot through the western US, struggling to find food and fighting off marauders. Eli arrives at a shabby town run by the evil Carnegie (Gary Oldman), who wants to use Eli's book to control people. Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel are paired in this romantic comedy. Beth (Bell), a curator at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, visits Rome, where she wades into the (fictional) Fountain of Love and picks up five coins. Legend has it that whoever tossed those coins into the fountain will become romantically attracted to her. She returns to New York and is eventually pursued by five suitors, played by Jon Heder, Will Arnett, Dax Shepard, Danny DeVito and Josh Duhamel.
