Seating Plans For Your Marquee Hire

101 3
Once you have hired your marquee, and ordered your equipment, and table, and chairs, and DJ and everything else you need for your party or event the one thing left to do is arrange how it will fit together. Such as where will the stage go, and where will the table and chairs go in relation to the stage, and where should the entrance be corresponding to the bar.

A great way to organize this is to create a seating plan. A seating plan is like a floor plan, it marks down on paper where everything will go in the marquee from the seating arrangements to the bar to the toilets.

Seating plans are governed by how many people will be attending the event which in turn will decipher how many table and chairs you'll need. These can then be arranged in a few different ways depending on the shape of the marquee.

Here are a few examples of plans to give you an idea of how you can arrange your marquee.

A large Guest List - this seating plan has a guest list of around 240 people, a chill out area and 2 dance floors. The entrance of the marquee is situated in the middle with the dance floors to the right hand side as you walk in. Straight ahead and left of the entrance is where the chairs and tables will be placed, and in the far left hand side is the chill out area.

The standard layout - One of the most commonly used marquee layouts is called the Bylands plan. This can cater for up to 80 guests and consists of 2 sections, one for the stage and the other for the table and chairs, and the entrance coming in from the bottom where the seating area is situated. The stage can be swapped for a dance floor area is required and more suitable.

The Fountains layout - a version up from the previous layout includes catering for up to 150 guests and is the same layout as the Bylands but has 2 sets of seating areas one after the other with the stage or dance floor at the end.

There are many different ways of arranging your marquee, these are a few to give you an idea. You can become as creative as you'd like or keep it easy and simple. Talk to the company who you hired the marquee from and they'll give you more ideas and plans for you to create the perfect setting for your event.
