How Can I Boot From a CD?
- 1). Turn your computer on or restart it.
- 2). Press the key which your system uses to enter BIOS mode when the first lines of text appear on your screen. The keyboard key you need to press is specific to your system. Most systems use either the F8 or DEL key, but some systems use different keys such as the F1 or F2 ones. Refer to your motherboard's users' manual If none of these work.
- 3). Navigate through the BIOS using the arrow keys of your keyboard and use the ENTER key to confirm selections. Locate the menu where you can change the boot order of your computer. Find that option under the "Advanced settings" menu, or some BIOS may place that option in a different category.
- 4). Select the CD drive as the primary boot device and the hard drive as the secondary boot device by using the arrow keys. Wait as your computer will first look in the CD drive to find a bootable media. Boot from the hard drive if it doesn't find it.
- 5). Select the "Save and Exit" option to save your new settings and reboot your computer.
