A Look At The New Samsung Wave

102 1
The new Samsung Wave looks to take the smartphone market by storm thanks to the incorporation of some superb technologies working alongside an impressive list of features and functions.

The Samsung Wave is an impressively designed handset, stylish enough to appeal to the fashion phone lovers yet maintaining the excellent functionality of a typical smart phone. For a handset boasting a 3.3" screen, the Wave certainly appears very compact. At under 11mm in depth, the unit looks wafer thin, adding to the sleek look. The Wave is 118mm high and 56mm wide and weighs in at a surprisingly lightweight 116 grammes. The screen fitted in the unit is what really catches the eye. Measuring 3.3", the screen features the latest Super AMOLED technology delivering an unrivalled screen experience. Featuring an exceptional 480 x 800 WVGA resolution, the screen delivers a crisper picture allowing for wider viewing angles, as well as being more responsive to the users touch. Over 16 million colours can also be displayed on the screen.

A host of useful apps and features are available on the Samsung Wave. Many modern handsets are boasting Google maps as a navigational tool, but rather than use this system Samsung have developed their own system which relies on its own location based services. A satellite navigation facility is also available, however this does attract a monthly fee. YouTube comes pre installed as an application, and thanks to the great connectivity works extremely well. A Radio app takes advantage of the handsets tuner, enabling you to not only listen to your favourite stations but also make recording from them as well. The Samsung Wave operates on Samsungs new Bada OS with the user interface being the very well received TouchWiz. The wide array of apps and functions load very quickly thanks to the hefty 1ghz processor, and switching between options is almost instant. A 3.5mm headphone jack has been fitted on the Wave, enabling the user to use a choice of headphones with the phone, and coupled with the potential for up to 32GB of memory, the handset will perform superbly as a portable audio player. Bluetooth is also supported, allowing for wireless communication with compatible products. On a larger scale the connectivity options are also impressive with EDGE, GPRS and 3G all supported as well as WiFi.

The Samsung Wave is one of those handsets that everybody seems to look forward too, thanks to great screen, lovely looks and generally a great all round performance.
